Choosing Your Lenses
What type of lens you have in your frames is completely up to you. However there are some important factors you should consider before making your choice.
SINGLE VISION PLASTIC
Plastic lenses are the standard lens used in most frames. We use a durable lightweight CR39 plastic which comes multi-coated AT NO EXTRA COST. See COATINGS for more details.
HIGH INDEX LENSES
The higher your prescription, the thicker the lens will have to be in order to correct your vision. Avoid this unsightly problem by selecting thin or super thin high index lenses and choosing small, neat frames.
COATINGS
Scratch resistance protection is a hard coating that is applied to the lens to increase its durability and help prevent scratching. WE SUPPLY THIS FREE OF CHARGE
Which Prescription, Which Lens?
For the best cosmetic finish on your glasses, we strongly recommend that you follow this guide:
- Prescriptions between -2.50 and + 2.50 should use a standard thickness lens (1.5)
- Prescriptions between +/- 2.50 and -/+ 5.00 should use a thin lens (1.6)
- Prescriptions over -5.00 and +5.00 should use a super thin lens (1.67)
