How will you know my specification is valid?
We will call your optician on the number provided to confirm all your details.
Why do you need my optician's details?
Our customer care team needs your optician's details so they can verify your prescription details with them before sending your order. Under our regulations we are unable to send your order without confirming your specification first.
I have never worn contact lenses before. Can I order them from you?
No, not yet. If you have never worn contact lenses, you will need to book a contact lens appointment with an optician. This will determine your suitability for contact lenses and your prescription (i.e. lens type, fit and strength). Once fitting is complete, your optician is legally obliged to give you your prescription, so you can start ordering with us.
Can't I just send my sight test prescription?
No, we can only accept a full contact lens specification for contact lenses, your contact lens specification is different to the prescription provided for your glasses (spectacles).
What is a contact lens specification (prescription)?
It is different from a sight test prescription. A contact lens specification details the brand of contact lenses you have been fitted with, the fitting measurements and the strength of your lenses. It will be signed and dated by your Optician or contact lens practitioner to indicate when you were fitted for contact lenses and the length of time your specification is valid for. You must register your opticians details with us, and we will verify your specification with them.
How can I re-new my contact lens specification?
To re-new your specification, simply book an appointment with an Optician for a contact lens aftercare (check-up). This will allow them to check the health of your eyes and ensure that your lens type and prescription are still suitable. Most contact lens wearers are recommended to have a check-up at least every 12 months.
What if I can't get my contact lens prescription from my optician?
As long as your contact lens fitting or check-up is complete, your optician is legally obliged to provide you with a full contact lens prescription.
Can I order 'own branded' contact lenses i.e. Specsavers?
Many Opticians' own branded lenses are simply re-packaged versions of named brand lenses. We will be adding this information to the site shortly.
Can I order lenses I haven't worn before?
No, under General Optical Council regulations we can only supply the lenses that are specified on your current contact lens specification.
Can I order as many lenses as you like?
No. Regulations governing the dispensing of contact lenses means we can only supply you with enough lenses to take you through to the end of your contact lens specification's validation.
What if I do not have a contact lens specification?
We cannot supply you with contact lenses unless you have a valid contact lens specification. To gain one you will need to book an appointment with your optician.
